Tava referrals are any clients that Tava refers to your practice, covering marketing, coordination, and client support to ensure a steady flow of matched, engaged clients. This includes clients from Tava's partner networks, or clients who sign up through the main Tava website rather than through your personal practice link. Tava referral clients may be paying for their sessions with cash, insurance or EAP.
| Eligibility for Tava Referrals is on a case-by-case basis. Eligibility can be reviewed when the therapist has added two self-referred clients to their caseload, had a session with each of them, and synced their Tava calendar with their personal one. Learn more here. |
Turning on or off Tava Referrals
Turn on Tava referrals in your Preferences tab under "Caseload". Click on your profile icon in the bottom left corner and select "Preferences."
Tava Referral Payouts
Once Tava Referrals have been turned on, you can find payouts for Tava referral sessions in the Payouts tab. Click on your profile icon in the bottom left corner and select "Payouts." On the tab on the right side of your payouts screen you can see the breakdown of your pay rates between Tava referrals and clients you bring to your practice.
Get More Referrals
To boost your Tava referrals, you can make it easier for the right clients to find you by optimizing your profile:
- Have a professional high-resolution profile photo
- Add a video bio if you haven’t already
- Make sure your written bio effectively represents your strengths
- Maintain a wide availability (best practice is 10+ hours). You can always reduce your availability as your caseload grows.
EAP Provider-Referred Clients
If a client you bring to Tava decides to add an EAP benefit, you will be paid the Tava Referral rate for these sessions. Once your client finishes their sponsored sessions, all future cash-pay or insurance sessions will be billed at yourself-referral rates.
Referral Reinstatement
If your referrals were suspended due to no-shows, you must schedule a meeting with the Clinical Operations team to review the situation. Referrals may be reinstated only after this discussion and agreement on expectations.
If your referrals were suspended due to frequent late cancels/reschedules, you must
- Confirm displayed availability is accurate.
- Confirm you are receiving appointment reminders.
- Enable calendar sync.
Once all steps are confirmed, referrals can be reinstated.
