Minors aged 13-18 must have a Minor Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian before they can schedule a therapy session.
Adding a New Minor Client
To add a minor client, follow these steps using the "Add Client" button, with a few extra steps. If the client's date of birth is detected to be under 18, you will be prompted to input a parent or guardian’s email for consent. Note that the parent and client emails cannot be same, they must be unique.
After clicking "Add Client," a consent form will be sent to the parent or guardian's email. This will need to be completed prior to seeing the client. The client will also receive an email to complete their intake, as outlined here.
Therapy for Minors Under 13
- Tava does not offer individual therapy for minors under age 13.
- However, they may attend family therapy sessions if a parent or guardian is present. In this case, a Minor Consent Form is not required.
How to Check for a Signed Minor Consent Form
- Client Profile Page → Check the Personal Info section to verify the signature status.
- Session Activity Tab → View the signed form under History in your client’s record.
Ensuring the Minor Consent Form is signed allows for a smooth scheduling process and compliance with therapy regulations.
