What is Recredentialing?
Recredentialing is the process of verifying credentialed providers are still eligible to continue seeing clients with each of their enrolled insurance payers. This is a streamlined process of the initial credentialing providers go through when first joining Tava.
Credentialing is the first step we take when enrolling a provider with insurance, where we verify your credentials (i.e, education, background, licensure, etc.) prior to submitting your information to a given payer.
For all providers who are enrolled with insurance through Tava, this credentialing step must be repeated every three years. Not to worry! We handle the recredentialing process on your behalf, and will notify you of any important dates, to-do’s, and status updates along the way.
Important! If your recredentialing is not completed by the expiration date, you will not be able to see insurance clients through Tava until we receive all the completed documentation.
Important Dates

90 days before credentialing expires: we will notify you of your upcoming deadline by email
- 60 days before credentialing expires: you will receive an email and platform notification that it is time to start the recredentialing process. At this point, you can access the recredentialing portal by going to: https://app.tavahealth.com/credentialing-setup
- 30 days before credentialing expires: You will receive an email and platform reminder
- 14 days before credentialing expires: You will receive an email and platform reminder
- 1 day before credentialing expires: You will receive your final reminder within the platform
- Approved: We will send you a confirmation after your recredentialing packet has been approved.
What you need:
You will submit all documentation within the portal at: https://app.tavahealth.com/credentialing-setup
Required Documentation:
- Your most recent resume
- Updated CAQH, including any new higher education if relevant
- Attestation Signature
After submitting all the required documentation, our credentialing team will verify everything is complete and reach out within a few business days to confirm your recredentialing.
