If a client relocates to a state where you are not licensed, you cannot continue providing therapy to them. Here’s how to handle the situation professionally:
1. Inform the Client
You can send them a message like this:
"I apologize for the inconvenience, but I am unable to continue therapy sessions with you because you are residing in a state where I am not licensed. On the Tava Health website, you can chat with support to update your address and receive assistance in finding a new provider in your state."
2. Direct the Client to Switch Providers
Clients can switch providers on their own. Share the step by step instructions, here.
3. Remove the Client from Your Caseload
- Go to your Clients list.
- Search for or select the client from your caseload
- Scroll to the bottom of the client profile and select "Remove Client"
- Select "I'm referring the client to another Tava provider."
Once the client is removed from your caseload, they will be automatically contacted to match with a new provider licensed in their state.
