If a client relocates to a state where you are not licensed, you cannot continue providing therapy to them. Here’s how to handle the situation professionally:
1. Inform the Client
You can send them a message like this:
"I apologize for the inconvenience, but I am unable to continue therapy sessions with you because you are residing in a state where I am not licensed. On the Tava Health website, you can chat with support to update your address and receive assistance in finding a new therapist in your state."
2. Remove the Client from Your Caseload
- Go to your Clients list.
- Search for or select the client from your caseload
- Scroll to the bottom of the client profile and select "Remove Client"
- Select "I'm referring the client to another Tava provider."
This ensures the client can be matched with a new provider licensed in their state.
