- Psychiatric Mental Health NPs (PMHNP)
- Family NPs (FNP)
- Women’s Health NPs (WHNP)
- Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM)

State practice authority & compliance
Prescriber autonomy is determined by state law. Prescribers at Tava are responsible for practicing within the requirements of their state. To verify prescribing compliance, Tava collects NPI, DEA registration, and APRN licensure.
If you state requires a collaborator, you must secure and maintain any required collaboration or supervision arrangement before seeing Tava clients in that state. You are responsible for ongoing compliance.
Scope of service
Prescribers may see only Tava‑referred clients. Self-referred medication management clients on Tava are not available at this time. Clients may use select insurance plans or cash-pay to cover medication management sessions, as well as sponsored insurance or employer credits.
Eligible prescriptions
Tava prescribers can prescribe non‑controlled psychiatric medications only (for example, many antidepressants or anti‑anxiety medications) when clinically appropriate. Controlled substances are not prescribed through this program. Tava does not provide an e-prescribe tool. Prescribers are expected to use their own e-prescribe workflows.
Collaboration with therapists
Tava encourages coordinated, team‑based care while respecting each clinician’s professional independence. Prescribers and therapists may review each other’s notes to stay aligned on diagnosis, goals, and progress. When a client experiences a crisis, the prescriber should be included in all relevant communications to ensure continuity and safety.
How to set up your calendar
Prescribers can set weekly recurring “Regular Hours” availability, one-time “Away” blocks to prevent bookings, and one-time “Extra Time” slots for additional availability outside of weekly recurring hours. Tava Health supports two-way calendar sync to prevent double-bookings. Learn how to set your availability and sync your calendar.
Sessions default to 50-minutes when scheduling, but may be adjusted by the prescriber. Initial evaluations typically last 30-50 minutes with subsequent sessions of 10-15 minutes. Learn how to adjust the length of a session.
