We understand that cost can be a barrier to therapy. At Tava, clients can cover session costs through:
1. Sponsoring Organization
2. Insurance
3. Credit Card
Clients add their coverage at sign-up and can update or switch coverage types anytime in the Billing Info tab. There are no differences in documentation requirements or how Tava referral clients are added to your caseload.
You can view a client’s coverage and session cost details by navigating to their client profile page, and reviewing the details under "Coverage" on the right.
1. Sponsoring organization (EAP)
- Many employers offer 3–50 sessions through Tava as an EAP benefit.
- If a client has sponsored sessions available, we bill their EAP first, even if they’ve added insurance or a credit card.
- EAP clients are considered Tava referrals. Once their sessions are used, they can continue with insurance or self-pay.
2. Insurance
- Tava accepts most insurance plans and is continuously expanding network partnerships.
- Clients enter their insurance provider & member ID, and we verify coverage. If verification fails, we prompt them to double-check details and upload their insurance card.
- Clients can add a credit card to book sessions while we resolve insurance issues.

3. Self-Pay (Credit Card, HSA, FSA)
- Clients can pay directly using a credit card, HSA, or FSA.
- This option is available for out-of-network clients, EAP clients exceeding their session cap, and insurance clients choosing an out-of-network provider.
- Some out-of-network plans reimburse therapy costs—clients can request a Superbill from client-support@tavahealth.com to submit for reimbursement.
- A credit card is required for incidental no-show fees or insurance copays.
